Snapshots Photomonth East London 2012

On October 24, The Brick Lane Gallery (The Annexe) will exhibit new works by local and emerging artists as a part of the London East End Photomonth art festival. Artists working in all styles and subjects represent the diversity this medium can produce. Images of the Ugly and the Beautiful, the still and the loud, the abstract and real. Photographer Marta Rovatti Studihrad is one of these artists and will be exhibiting her work entitled "Latent Content".

Marta Rovatti Studihrad is a young Italian photographer based in London. Last year she graduated in the MA Photographic Studies at Westminster University, and for the last two years she has been involved in the organization of MIA Photography and Video Fair and has worked as a freelance exhibition designer.
Rovatti will be presenting her "Latent Content" collection. In her own words, "Latent Content it’s a project that has materialized from a feeling of confusion and dizziness that I felt when I arrived in London. The water channel is for me a metaphor of time and space, merging the layers corresponding to its qualities of fluidity, reflectivity and transparency I’m able to grasp moments which I consider ephemeral as much as the spaces they represent. The series is composed of whispering images, whose meaning is not shouted out loud but needs time to be understood."

Marta Rovatti Studihrad's Latent Content will be exhibited at The Brick Lane Gallery (The Annexe) in London alongside other UK and London based artists including Angelina AleksandrovichAnita ChandraMark ConlonMichael MartenMike CurrySimon HeadSimon Urwin, and Susan Kay. The exhibit runs from October 24 to November 24 and is part of East London's Photomonth 2012.
